In 2015, under the influence of one of our Mackay Ambassador family members Casey Lindsay, Calen District State College is doing Talk Like a Pirate Day once more.
Throughout the day (which will be held on Friday 18th September on the last day of Term 3), a gold coin donation will be collected for free dress alongside fun activities throughout the day and a sausage sizzle for lunch (run / donated by the generous Lindsay family).
The activities running throughout the day will include colouring of pirate masks, treasure hunts, “walk the plank” (involving the Principal walking himself into a pool of jelly), and “fire the cannon balls” (volleyball games).
If you’re considering putting on a Talk Like a Pirate Day event in your area, or at your school, contact the Childhood Cancer Support office on 07 3252 4719, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org to see how we can help you maximise your fundraising goals. In addition, you might like to check out www.talklikeapirateday.com.au to find out more about the day, or read out Guide to Fundraising which includes handy hints and tips on how to get started.
Special thanks to the Calen District State College Principal, administration team and the ever-supportive Lindsay family.
