The Clear Day initiative was formed to allow carers of children with cancer a 'Clear Day' to revive, rejuvenate and relax during a strenuous time.
Carers have a very important role to play in the ongoing care of their child, but often their own welfare is quickly forgotten.
During their stay at hospital carers are dealing with a huge range of professionals all day every day trying to understand the details of processes and procedures as they arise.
While their child continues their treatment, the carer is constantly learning and explaining. Normal eating and sleeping habits are severely altered and daily interactions can become highly emotional. Their child is fighting for their lives and the people at home are missing them.
The Clear Day Package
The aim of the Clear Day is to enable the carers of children with cancer to take time out to relax, revive and revisit the person they were before their lives were so suddenly affected by cancer.
A Clear Day package treats the carer to overnight accommodation at a 4/5 star hotel paired with relaxing, indulgent activities all tailored and arranged through Childhood Cancer Support.
Clear Day Granting Process
This Childhood Cancer Support family initiative grants special time out requests for carers of children battling cancer through The Royal Children's Hospital, Brisbane.
Essentially a Clear Day package is overnight accommodation at a 4/5 star hotel paired with relaxing or indulgent activities.
You will qualify for a 'Clear Day' if:

You are the carer of a child fighting cancer;

Your child is currently having treatment at the Royal Children's Hospital, Herston;

Your child is under 18 years of age;

You have recently lost a child whilst they were fighting cancer.
How to apply for a 'Clear Day':

Print and complete the Expression of Interest for found below

Post the form to PO Box 295, Red Hill QLD 4059

A more detailed Application Form and Consent Form will be sent to you to complete and return to our office

You will be contacted by one Childhood Cancer Support Clear Day officers to discuss your package

Once all the criteria has been confirmed we will then organise your 'Clear Day'
